An incredibly rare issue, available at a rare price, we can offer the 1988 $10 Bicentennial Specimen banknote at a truly devastating discount.
As unusual as it is rare, this note features the serial number ‘000000’ – known as ‘million serials’. As standard practice, banknote sheets bearing serial numbers comprising only zeroes are set aside for archive, or destroyed. Except in very rare circumstances, ‘million serials’ notes would never be found in circulation.
The note before you was created specifically to be given to dignitaries and contributors to the creation of the 1988 Bicentennial $10 – Australia’s first commemorative note, and the world’s first polymer note. Only a tiny number were presented, each with the First Prefix AA00, 000000 serial numbers, and a red, individually numbered ‘Specimen’ overprint.
Offered in strictly Unc, and set in an official folder, we have just one example available.
