The C/4 Dump – the rarest 1813 Dump Type!

Put simply, the C/4 is the rarest 1813 NSW Silver Dump (15 pence) type. Indeed, it is believed that, of surviving examples, only 2% are C/4! That amounts to less than TEN coins!

Unlike any other 1813 NSW Dump type, the C/4 is distinguished by lozenge shaped pearls, which are found in the centre of the band on the crown. In addition, it is also recognised by a unique reverse. It is possible that the C/4 Type, like the E/3, was part of an early experimentation process of William Henshall, the convicted forger who created the Holey Dollar and Dump at the behest of Lachlan Macquarie. This would explain why perhaps less than ten examples exist today.

With so few known, it is no surprise that this excessively rare coin is seldom seen on the market. Do not miss this opportunity.
