A rare, fascinating piece of early Australian history, this eye-catching £100 Bill of Exchange from the Australian Agricultural Company was issued in 1830 – just 42 years after European Settlement!

Capturing modern Australia’s earliest history, the bill was signed by Company Commissioner Sir William Parry – a record-breaking explorer who helped to discover the famed Northwest Passage. The recipient was Thomas MacVitie, a banker and merchant who settled in New South Wales in 1816 and became a director the Bank of New South Wales in 1821.

In a superb state of preservation for a 192-year-old piece of ephemera, this rare colonial artefact will be gone in a flash. Click add to cart now!
