A genuine artefact of the 1850s Australian Gold Rush, this Share Certificate Strip of Three was issued in 1857 by the Peel River & Land Mineral Co. The company was formed in 1853 after gold was discovered at Peel River in New South Wales. Fascinatingly, the first superintendent was the grandson of Governor Philip Gidley King, who created the Proclamation of 1800 – Australia’s first official currency system! Graded Very Fine, and surprisingly affordable.
