Known for the consistent quality, beauty and purity of its gold coins, the Perth Mint struck sovereigns from its launch in 1899 until the last Australian sovereign was issued in 1899. Whilst owning every Perth Mint Sovereign date is beyond most of us, the acquisition of an example of every type is still surprisingly affordable – as illustrated by the Perth Mint Gold Sovereign 4-Coin Type Set!

Among the most sought-after gold coins in numismatics, the Perth Mint issued four sovereign types. The Mint’s first sovereigns were struck in the last years of the long, reign of Queen Victoria. Issued only from 1899 to 1901, each Queen Victoria Sovereign carries the majestic Veiled Head portrait. The noble features of King Edward VII graced Perth Mint Sovereigns only from 1902 to 1910, whilst the Large Portrait of King George V was employed from 1911 to 1928. The fourth and final Perth Mint Sovereign type carries the Small Portrait of King George V and was employed only from 1929 to the end of the Australian Sovereign Series in 1931.

All four types are included in this prestigious presentation – dates of our choice – with each coin also distinguished by Benedetto Pistrucci’s St George & the Dragon design. A work of timeless beauty, Pistrucci’s neo-classical masterpiece was the only reverse design employed by the Perth Mint in the production of Sovereigns. Presented in Very Fine to about Uncirculated condition, the four 22-carat gold Sovereign types are united within a plush case with a Certificate of Authenticity.

As all Australian Sovereigns are scarce today, with literally millions lost to the melting pot in the near-century since the last was struck, we have been able to assemble only a small number of sets. Do not miss this golden opportunity!
