Arguably the highlight of the Postmaster Hoard, Downies is delighted to offer - for the very first time - the rare 1914 1d Red Die I & II Joined Pair!

A distinctive philatelic variety, the first George V Portrait 1d stamp was printed with two dies. Most 1914 1d Red stamps were printed with Die I, with a very limited number printed with Die II - a type identified by the spur seen below the '1' in the bottom left hand corner of the stamp. The 1914 1d Die I and Die II varieties were printed on the same sheet, meaning that these stamps can be secured as a very rare 'joined pair'!
