Highly sought after WWII memento

A keen reminder of the darkest days of the Second World War, the second banknote issue of the reign of King George VI was unveiled in 1942 – the year that Darwin was bombed, and Sydney Harbour was attacked by Japanese midget submarines. Providing a unique link with those brave Australian men and women who faced what seemed like a very real threat of invasion, the Armitage/McFarlane issue has always been sought after as a tangible, genuine artefact of WWII.

With nearly eighty years having passed since first issued, and – quite literally – millions and millions of notes withdrawn from circulation and destroyed, Armitage/McFarlane notes are scarce in better grade. Comprising the traditional 10/-, £1, £5 and £10 denominations, the complete set of four is excessively rare in about Uncirculated to Uncirculated condition, as presented here.

These notes are so rarely seen on the market in aUnc to Unc, thus, immediate action is essential.
