During the 1980s, inflation triggered a raft of changes to Australia’s currency, including the creation of a new denomination – the $100 banknote. The first $100 was issued in 1984 under Johnston/Stone, and, before supplanted by polymer in the mid-90s, the 1985 Johnston/Fraser $100, the 1990Fraser/Higgins $100 and last paper 1991 Fraser/Cole $100 were all issued into circulation.

Extremely scarce today, with the $100 representing too much spending power for most people to set aside as a memento, particularly in the 1980s, we have a limited number of Uncirculated 4-note sets available.
