Radically different than the £10 of her father, King George VI, the first £10 issued for Queen Elizabeth II were launched in 1954. Issued under the auspices of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, during the Coombs/Wilson signature combination, this important Australian banknote is scarce in any grade.

In large part, the scarcity is due to the fact that, as Australia’s highest circulating denomination at the time, this note was printed in very limited numbers. In addition, the £10 represented far too much spending power for most people to casually set aside as a memento, and most examples are heavily circulated.

In strong Very Fine condition, this is a great opportunity for you to add the first Queen Elizabeth II £10 note to your collection.
