The Gold Guinea continued to be issued under the son and successor of George I – George II (1727-60). As with his father’s gold coins, George II Guineas are excessively rare, particularly in the upper echelons of quality. Underpinned by excellent detail in the designs, especially on the reverse, and a rich natural lustre, this lovely gVF 1733 Gold Guinea is an obvious case-in-point.
