The Coombs/Randall issue followed the first decimal signature combination, Coombs/Wilson. Naturally, the introduction of decimal currency saw a huge number of notes issued under Coombs/Wilson, and there was no pressing need to print many notes under its successor. Thus, of all decimal signature combinations, the short-lived Coombs/Randall issue is the rarest – and consequently the most sought after.

The complete 1967-68 Coombs/Randall 5-Note Set is seldom seen, irrespective of the grade. The $1, $2, $10, $20 and Australia’s first $5 are among the highest cataloguing Australian decimal notes, with the $20 exceedingly rare. Indeed, the $20 is seen as Australia’s rarest decimal note. Astonishingly, a mere 2% of all Commonwealth of Australia banner $20 notes (1966-73) carried the Coombs/Randall signatures! Virtually unknown in Uncirculated, and extremely rare in about Uncirculated, as here, this highly desirable issue is rightly regarded as the key to the series.

True ‘Glamour Notes’ of Australian numismatics, the Commonwealth banner Coombs/Randall notes are a must-have for the serious decimal banknote collector – particularly at this incredible price! A wonderful opportunity to secure the collection in premium grade about Uncirculated-Uncirculated, the 1967-68 Coombs/Randall 5-Note Set is now $600 off market value.
