Adelaide success for the last 2018 show

Downies attended the Numismatic Association of South Australia’s Coin & Banknote Expo held on the 16th & 17th November in Adelaide at the Torrens Parade Ground Hall.

Represented by Numismatists Alex Pallent & Steve Kirby, the Downies team had a busy two days at the expo serving local Downies customers and new customers. Over the two days, the latest Royal Australian Mint releases, world coins and predecimal Australian banknotes were among the top-selling categories.

Steve and Alex were given a warm welcome by the local numismatic society members, with excellent lunch service each day – and homemade baking from the show cafe!

Show visitors to the Downies stand over the weekend were given Melbourne Shop flyers and copies of the latest Money Magazine. It was great to see a notable increase in attendance from last year’s show, reaffirming that coin collecting is alive and well in Adelaide and South Australia, and reward for the hard work done by the Numismatic Association of South Australia in advertising and promoting this year’s event.
