Issued in low numbers, as with all Silver Crowns, South African Five Shillings are seldom seen in this country. An unusual opportunity, available at a surprisingly affordable price, we are delighted to present the South Africa 1947-59 Silver Crown Pair.

Issued under George VI and Elizabeth II (monarch of our choice), South Africa’s Springbok Silver Crown is considered a classic of international numismatics. Spanning 38.80mm, as with the Springbok Silver Crown, the 1952 Silver Crown was issued for the 300th anniversary of Cape Town. A unique, one-year-only type, the reverse of the 1952 Silver Crown depicts the Drommedaris – one of the two ships of Jan van Riebeeck, who arrived at Cape Town in 1652 to establish a new colony.

The perfect pair, we have these two iconic South African Silver Crowns for a mere $49.95! Press add to cart now!
