Struck from 1840 to 1930 in the Himalayan kingdom of Tibet, this eye-catching silver coin is both immensely beautiful; and richly symbolic.

The obverse is distinguished by a delightful motif encompassing an eight-spoked wheel, complemented by Tibetan characters within the petals of an eight-petalled lotus. The reverse features an ornate lotus design surrounded by an eight-petalled lotus depicting the Buddhist Eight Auspicious symbols, which are regularly employed by Tibetan Buddhists in household and public art.
