In 1925, the Ford Motor Company of Canada established a subsidiary in Australia – the Ford Motor Company of Australia. In that same year, the first Australian-built Ford was completed at the company’s new HQ in Geelong, Victoria – the Model T. While creating many models in the following decades, the history of Ford Australia is largely defined by the Ford Falcon.
Adapted for local conditions, the Falcon’s robust design and powerful performance captured the hearts and minds of Australians, and the car became part of our national identity.
