Product Details
One of the 'Glamour Notes' of Australian numismatics, highly sought after by all collectors, the 1973 $50 Phillips/Wheeler YAA First Prefix is among Australia's most valuable decimal banknote issues. Created due to inflationary pressures in the early 1970s, the then new $50 was Australia's highest denomination when issued in 1973. Much like the ยฃ10 and ยฃ5 notes of the predecimal era, the 1973 $50 Phillips/Wheeler was naturally seen by most people as too valuable to blithely set aside as a keepsake at the time of issue.
