Capturing a vivid piece of Australia’s early colonial heritage, this official release pays homage to the 200th anniversary of the postal service in Australia!
An official issue of Australia Post, this unique Stamp & Coin Cover is headlined by an official Australian legal tender coin from the Perth Mint. Spanning 30.20mm in diameter, and superbly enhanced with full-colour, the coin depicts Isaac Nichols. It was Nichols’ appointment as first Postmaster of NSW in 1809 that marks the beginning of the postal service in Australia. Also featuring an official Australian 55c stamp, this memorable, brightly coloured Stamp & Coin Cover forms a fine tribute to the role of the postal service in the development of the colony into a progressive, stable society.
