An official issue of the Royal Australian Mint, this Australian legal tender $2 forms a charming celebration of the folkloric Tooth Fairy!
First appearing in the very early 20th century, the tradition of the Tooth Fairy has charmed generations. While parents and grandparents might remember receiving a silver-coloured coin, kids losing a baby tooth are comforted by the fact that it will be replaced by a shiny gold-coloured coin, magically appearing under their pillow. Since 2020, when the first issue of the Tooth Fairy $2 Series was launched, the Royal Australian Mint has played a key role in this grand tradition.
Struck to the Royal Australian Mint’s rigorous Uncirculated standard – a much higher standard than that used to strike the coins you find in your change – this coin also represents ‘the last of its kind’. With the 2026 Tooth Fairy $2 bearing a completely different design, the 2025 issue is the last of a three-year-only type!
