Paying homage to the centenary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals – the provider of vital communication support to the Australian Army & Defence Force – we are delighted to have secured an allocation of this official Australia Post Stamp & Coin Cover!

With a history dating back to 1869, when Australia had the first regularly formed signal unit in the British Empire, more than 100,000 personnel have served in Australian Signals outfits since WWI. The official Australian Corps of Signals was formed in January 1925, with the title ‘Royal’ conferred in 1948 by King George VI. During the many decades the Corps has served Australia, its members have developed and responded to new technologies, giving the Defence Forces a significant competitive edge.

An appropriate tribute to a century of service, this Australia Post release is headlined by a unique, one-year-only $1 type from the Royal Australian Mint. Graced with a depiction of the Roman God Mercury – the messenger of the gods – this Australian legal tender coin will not be issued for circulation and will never be found in change! The perfect partner, each cover also features an Australian $1.50c commemorative stamp bearing the Latin phrase ‘Certa Cito’. Meaning ‘swift & sure’, Certa Cito is the motto of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals.

With the limited edition just 6,500, and our allocation tiny, we must – in the interests of fairness – apply a strict limit of one per household. Click add to cart now!
