Struck to Proof quality from 99.99% silver, and plated in 24-carat gold, this official Australian Show Product celebrates the Perth Mint’s first gold coin collector series – the Gold Nugget Program. A brilliant concept, the coin features a design created by Stuart Devlin for the first 1oz issue of the series, but ultimately never used. Depicting the Welcome Stranger – the largest gold nugget ever unearthed – united with a map of Australia and stylised sun rays, this design was overlooked in 1986 in favour of a different Devlin design, and was placed in the archives. Now, Stuart Devlin’s stunning motif has been revived to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series!
As is traditional with official Australian Show Products, the ANDA Hobart Money Expo Gold Nugget Program 40th Anniversary 2026 $1 Gold-plated 1oz Silver Proof has an extremely low mintage.
