Celebrating the work of respected painter and designer Kevin Bynder, we are delighted to present Australia Post’s Ngana Nyitting 2025 $1 Black Cockatoo Stamp & Coin Cover!

Bearing the title ‘Ngana Nyitting’, translating as ‘My Dreaming’ in the Yamatji (Ngana) and Nyungar (Nyitting) languages, this official release unites a $1.70c Australian stamp with an Australian legal tender $1 coin from the Perth Mint. Eye-catching works of art, both the stamp and the coin carry the artwork of Kevin Bynder.

A proud Whadjuk-Yuet-Ballardong man, Kevin is the power behind many Indigenous guernsey and shirt designs for major sporting franchises, and many public and private murals around Perth. Celebrating Whadjuk Country, in southwest Western Australia, the full-colour designs of the coin and stamp depict the Black Cockatoo – seen when rain is coming – as well as the Balga (grass tree) and Nollamarra or Kurulbrang (kangaroo paw). Said to be the body of the Waagyl (the Rainbow Serpent), resting after she created the land in the Dreamtime, the Kaart-Morda (Darling Range) is also portrayed.

As exclusive as it is eye-catching, the limited edition of the Ngana Nyitting 2025 $1 Black Cockatoo Stamp & Coin Cover has been restricted to just 7,500. With our allocation tiny, and with a sell-out anticipated, we must impose a limit of five per household.
