A true collectable colossus, the broad 66.10mm flan provides the consummate canvas for the inspiring portrayal of the Wedge-tailed Eagle by John M. Mercanti, formerly Chief Engraver of the US Mint. Depicting Australia’s largest bird of prey with wings spread Mercanti’s motif is brought to life through an Ultra Deep Relief strike, with the reverse struck on a concave surface to ensure the optimal flow of precious metal is achieved by the strike of the die.
