Struck at the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra, the 2003 Volunteers 50c symbolises both the scale of Australia’s voluntary work, and the great diversity of those who show such commitment, self-sacrifice and often great courage in their work for the community. An official Australian legal tender issue, distinguished by the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley on the obverse, this coin will never be found in circulation in the state of preservation seen here.
