Two Sovereigns, one hundred years…

A golden tribute to the life and record-breaking reign of Elizabeth II, this set comprises two 22-carat gold sovereigns. Appropriately, that includes a sovereign struck in the year of the Queen’s birth. In 1926, during the reign of the Queen’s grandfather, King George V, gold sovereigns were struck at four branches of the Royal Mint – Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Pretoria in South Africa. A premium example, the 100-year-old 1926 Gold Sovereign found in this presentation is in Extremely Fine to about Uncirculated condition – mint of our choice.

The perfect complement, the set also includes a 2026 Gold Sovereign – issued by Britain’s Royal Mint in the centenary year of the birth of Elizabeth II. Carrying the portrait of King Charles III, each British legal tender coin is struck to the Royal Mint’s rigorous Uncirculated standard. Featuring Benedetto Pistrucci’s masterpiece, St George & the Dragon, the 2026 Gold Sovereign bears the original 1817 Sovereign reverse legend – HONI SOI QUI MAL Y PENSE (shame on him who thinks evil of it) – inscribed multiple times around the rim.
