An incredibly tight qualifying session saw Feeney start fifth on the grid before co-driver Whincup took the lead early in the race. As rain rolled in, treacherous conditions at Mount Panorama made the contest unpredictable. Pushing hard to stay with the front runners, Feeney slid into the wall at Forrest’s Elbow on Lap 124 but managed to bring the Camaro home in sixth. Despite the setback, both Red Bull entries had already secured their place in the new Finals format starting at the Gold Coast 500.
