Written by former UK Children’s Laureate Julia Donaldson and illustrated by award-winning illustrator Axel Scheffler, the book has become a firm favourite with children and adults alike since its initial release in 2010. It has since sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide.
Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler have worked together since they released their first book, A Squash and a Squeeze, in 1993. Since then, the pair have collaborated to create some of the mostpopular children’s books of the twenty-first century, including The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man. Their books have sold millions of copies around the world and since 2009, many of their stories have been adapted into animated films by the production company Magic Light Pictures.
