This is in part due to its participation in one of the world’s great touring car endurance races, the Bathurst 1000. Since the Commodore debuted on ‘the Mountain’ in 1980, it has won the event an unchallenged 27 times. Over its celebrated lifespan, the Holden Commodore has collected many major motoring awards and won the prestigious ‘Wheels Car of the Year’ award a record five times.
