His famous character featured in 12 novels and two short story collections before producers Albert R. ‘Cubby’ Broccoli and Harry Saltzman brought Bond to cinemas for the first time in 1962.
In The Man With The Golden Gun, Bond hunts for the ‘Solex Agitator’, an advanced technological component stolen by Scaramanga in order to weaponise his solar energy plant. Played by Roger Moore in his second outing as the daring agent, Bond employs all his trickery to outwit the assassin and his signature golden gun, with the decisive action taking place inside the unnerving surroundings of the funhouse, a deadly maze on Scaramanga’s tropical island home.
