Charting the record-breaking reign of Queen Elizabeth II through portraiture, this 5-coin Gold Sovereign Set is prestigious, desirable and very exclusive. The limited edition is a mere FIFTY sets!
Each of those sets comprises five genuine British Gold Sovereigns – each struck at the Royal Mint. Following her journey from youthful monarch to 'Matriarch of Great Britain', each sovereign bears one of the five main obverse portraits of Elizabeth II used on British coinage from the 1950s to the current day.
In as issued condition, the five sovereigns feature the portraits by Mary Gillick (1957-68), Arnold Machin (1974-82), Raphael Maklouf (1985-97), Ian Rank-Broadley (2000-15), Jody Clark (2016-22) respectively – dates of our choice. A masterpiece of neo-classical art, created by legendary Italian engraver Benedetto Pistrucci, the reverse of each 22-carat gold coin is distinguished by the unmitigated magnificence of the St George & the Dragon motif.
