A crucial type for collectors, and increasingly scarce in superior grade, we are delighted to present the 2012 Remembrance Day Poppy $2 in strictly Uncirculated quality!
In 2012, the Royal Australian Mint broke new ground with the issue of Australiaโs first circulating $2 commemorative coins. The full-colour 2012 Red Poppy $2 may have grabbed the headlines, but the non-colour 2012 Poppy $2 was also crucial. Indeed, while everyone scoured through change, trying to find the colour version, the underrated 2012 Poppy $2 slipped under the radar, and was seldom set aside at the time of issue. The result? This one-year-only Australian legal tender type is increasingly scarce in Uncirculated quality โ as presented here.
With the mintage just 5.8 million โ less than 25% of the annual average $2 mintage from 1988 to 2024 โ the 2012 Poppy $2 is seldom seen in change today. Even if you got lucky and found one, it would not be in premium grade. This is your chance to ensure that you own this landmark Australian $2 type in strictly Uncirculated condition.
