The series is centred on the fictional town of Hawkins, and begins with Will Byers’ disappearance in November 1983. As it turns out, Will has been abducted by a creature from a parallel dimension called the Upside Down, following the creation of a portal between Earth and the Upside Down by a mysterious government scientific laboratory near Hawkins. Rooted in 80s nostalgia, Stranger Things has been nominated for over 230 awards, winning more than 70, and has millions of fans worldwide. And every one of them will want this coin!
Struck from 2oz of 99.99% silver, the broad 40.69mm flan of this official legal tender coin bears a disturbing portrayal of Vecna – ruler of the Upside Down. Capturing the eerie malevolence of this dark alternate world perfectly, in part through the disturbing employment of full-colour, the coin also depicts two Demogorgons, demobats and flashes of the abnormal lightning that plagues the Upside Down.
