Orville and his brother, Wilbur Wright, built and tested one of their early aircraft, the 1905 Flyer III. Ohio proudly boasts that 19 of its men and women have been sent into space, including John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth and Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.
